After reading Touch the World Through Prayer, a friend and I talked about the need to pray for our brothers and sisters who suffer for their faith. At that time, the persecution was not as brutal (so we thought!) as it later developed. The Lord slowly gave me a great concern and compassion for the people who - though complete strangers - lived in other countries and going through tremendous opposition for their faith. I contacted Open Doors, and started to pray regularly for the individuals and countries, using the information that their "Monthly Prayer Bulletin.” More people became interested and joined me in a weekly prayer at St. John's which resulted in us starting this ministry.”

In places like Iran, where it is most dangerous to celebrate Christmas, believers combine their celebrations with children's birthdays or other events and sing softly together. Thank God that, as one believer said, "limitations bring out creativity".
